New Artists for Charleston Carifest

Ronnel Ramirez aka Champeon has joined the lineup for Charleston Carifest Finale at Brittle Bank Park. Champeon, is a Soca/Reggae artist from Trinidad and Tobago. He has performed at Trinidad and Tobago Carnival and is slated to be part of the 2011 lineup.

Dream Merchants

The Dream Merchants, a youth reggae band will make their first Charleston Carifest performance on Saturday, June 19 at the Charleston Carifest Finale. This family of brothers, sisters and first cousins have been performing for approximately three years.

Charleston Carifest will go on rain or shine. So come out for a fun time with your folding chairs. No coolers allowed.

SC Caribbean Culture and Heritage Inc launched the Father’s Day Writing Contest this year to help promote reading. Our featured country, Barbados has a literacy rate of 99.7% which is among the highest in the world.

Big Hair Production with the Reggae Riddim Band and Dub Island Sound System will rock Charleston Carifest 2010, along with DJ Nynjah and Spitfire Entertainment. Making her Charleston debut is Ms April Kemp. April sultry voice will blow you away as she belts out the roots music.

Charleston Carifest will also showcase the next generation of artists, the Allendale Tigers steel Band, Whale Branch Tigers Steel Band, jump castle, games and food, fun and excitement for the family.
